Project Coordinator

Job Description:

This is an entry level position into the Operations career path.  This employee may have little to no prior experience working in the construction industry but at a minimum should possess the educational background to support their role in this position.  If the opportunity is available, this individual could spend 6 to 12 months in the Preconstruction/Estimating Department prior to moving out into the field on to a project.

Minimum qualifications for consideration into this position:   

  • College graduate 
    • Internship with a commercial construction company, Architectural firm or Developer preferred, but not required
    • Computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Smart Device, Procore, DropBox, etc. 
  • Experience in the field with a base in construction operations (Estimating, Foreman, etc.)
  • The Project Coordinator is to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout the entirety of the project.
  • Obtain permits if directed by Project Manager.
  • Obtain and distribute sufficient contract documents for Byrne’s personnel and Subcontractor use.  Utilize electronic document management software if project budget permits.
  • Verify that Subcontractors have obtained project permits and validated off Byrne’s building permit.
  • Read the specifications, contract documents and study the plan details.  Become familiar with subcontractors scope requirements in contracts.
  • Prepare contact list of key personnel. This includes owner, design, Byrne, subcontractors etc. and distribute to jobsite representatives
  • Perform duties as directed by the Project Manager or APM.  Work direct with Senior Project Coordinator to setup project specific engineering files.
  • Notify Architect, Owner, and company of job site mailing address and telephone number.
  • Set up job files for submittals, RFI’s, proposed changes, and architects supplemental instructions. The general job files and Subcontractor correspondence files are set up and maintained by the project team. Coordinate electronic files versus hard copies with project team.
