Pay: $9.00/hour
Hours: 15–20 hours per week (flexible around class schedule; preferred availability at least 3 days per week)
Start: Fall 2026 semester
Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Tarleton State, Stephenville Campus, Thompson Student Center, Suite 21
Position Overview
The Employer Relations & Marketing Intern supports Career Services by assisting with employer outreach, on-campus engagement planning, event coordination, and collaborative marketing initiatives. This role works closely with full-time staff to strengthen employer relationships, support recruiting activities, and promote Career Services programs through strategic communications and social media content.
As part of a growing and highly visible team, this position provides hands-on experience in employer relations, event planning, and marketing communications while contributing to the development of career-ready Texans.

Key Responsibilities
Employer Relations & Engagement
- Assist with employer outreach efforts to build and maintain relationships with recruiting partners
- Support planning and coordination of on-campus employer engagement activities, including tabling events and employer visits
- Help schedule, organize, and execute employer-facing events in collaboration with Career Services staff
- Provide on-site support for career fairs and employer events to ensure a positive experience for employers and students
- Represent Career Services professionally in interactions with employers and campus partners
- Assist with follow-up communication and engagement tracking with employer partners
Marketing & Communications
- Contribute to the creation of social media and digital content in collaboration with Career Services staff
- Assist in promoting employer events, job opportunities, and Career Services programs through Canva, email, and social platforms
- Capture photos, videos, and testimonials during employer engagement events for promotional use
- Support consistent branding and messaging across student- and employer-facing communications
- Share ideas to enhance engagement and visibility of employer events and initiatives
Technology & Operations
- Utilize Handshake to support employer postings and engagement activities
- Monitor Career Services email account and route employer and student inquiries appropriately
- Assist with tracking employer engagement, event participation, and outreach data
- Support reporting and documentation of employer relations activities and outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Tarleton State University student (Junior or Senior preferred)
- Strong interest in employer relations, recruiting, human resources, event coordination, or marketing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and customer service-oriented
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities
- Interest or experience in Canva, social media, or digital content creation is a plus
Additional Expectations
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend events
- Consistent communication with supervisors and team members using platforms such as Microsoft Teams and email
- Willingness to support multiple staff members and contribute to Career Services initiatives
- Successful completion of training and performance expectations for continued employment
